Basic Bridge

Rod Spicer, Chairman, 935-5306

We have discontinued the formal lessons and we will have open play with each player
rotating after 4 hands. Table Talk is allowed. A discussion is encouraged after a hand has been played. Coaches are available for questions at any time. The Basic Bridge players are getting used to the challenge of playing with new partners each round.

Our session begins with each table playing a demonstration hand to show how many ways a deal could be bid and played. After the discussion, we have open pla y at each table. This
month the open play produced the following top scores: Mardi and Roger Lockwara were the high scorers because they bid 3 No Trump and made 4. In the open play the best score was  1940, but the score sheet was not signed. However, we think it belonged to Shirl Maufe. If this was someone else’s score, please E-mail us and we’ll give you the credit.
Learning players are invited to join us on the first Thursday of the month at Round Table Pizza, 1938 Oak Park Blvd, Pleasant Hill.   We start at 1:30PM.  Arrive early for  lunch because that is our payment for the use of the room. At the mid-point of the session we will take a break to check our  tires because the of the new parking restrictions.
