Hey 49er Faithful!
The NFL graciously granted the 9ers a “bye” during week 14 of the season. You know what that means, don’t you? You can’t use football as an excuse not to attend the Christmas Gala! “Holding” on to your registration will get you a “10 yard penalty” and you’ll have to” punt”. You’ll be hoping there’s no “pass interference” for your “hail mary” if you leave registration til’ the “2 minute warning”. You’ll be the “player of the game” when you “take it to the house” with your “touchdown” registration run..right up the middle! There’s no “false start” penalty when you send it your registration for the Christmas Gala early. Sooo, get out your “Sunday go to meetin’ clothes” (the ladies like to dress up once in a while) and get ready for an evening of good food, good music and good fun! In most cases, your wife (or guest) is going to enjoy the Winter Wonderland Gala more than Monday nite football! For the ladies that love football, they’ll be just as happy as you are that it’s a “bye” week and they won’t miss anything! Okay, so maybe you can earn a “holding” penalty this evening and score a win! Registration deadline is Nov. 28th. You can find the registration form on the SIR website at: www.sirbr8.com/ldlSeptember 2025
EVER NOTICE HOW TIME FLIES? Before you can blink an eye, the holiday season will be upon us. Halloween candy is on the shelves at every store, people are making Thanksgiving plans and if you’re smart, you will be making your reservations for the SIR Christmas Dinner: the Winter Wonderland Gala. You won’t want to miss the “Happy Hour”, the elegant sit-down dinner with your choice of entrees, and music for your enjoyment and dancing. Don’t forget about the door prizes. There are some new ones this year that you haven’t seen before! And your chance of winning one is just as good as the “guy” sitting next to you! Now is the time to reserve a table with your friends or if you want to rub elbows with somebody new, just send in your registration along with your check and we’ll assign you to a table with some of your new friends. Do it now, that’s one thing you can mark of the “Wish List”! This will be a night to remember, make sure you are part of the memories! Registration forms are available on the SIR Branch 8 website: www.sirbr8.com/ldl

The Ladies Day Holiday Luncheon

The 2024 Ladies Day Spring Luncheon
The annual Ladies Day Luncheon on June 10, 2024, with the theme Spring Fling, was attended by over one hundred members with their wives and guests. “The Rory Snyder Sound” quartet provided lively music, and some of the attendees took a turn around the dance floor. There were 31 bottles of wine donated by Ron Cassano, Buck Shot, and Jim Sowell, who donated a 2004 Dynamite Winery Cabernet Sauvignon that was served at the bar. This wine had every quality that makes red wine delicious. Thank you, Jim, Other door prizes of 5 boxes of See’s one pound chocolates, was donated by Donna Schwan and Ray DeWitt brought Door Prizes from Rocco Ristorante Pizzeria and a wine tasting from Muscardini Winery and there were two donated $50 gift certificates for the Pleasant Hill Wise Girl Ristorante and Back Forty Restaurant by owner Angela Kalinowski, and Ron Smith donated SIR logo corks for open wine bottles. Highlights of the luncheon included Ed Dijkman being presented a certificate of appreciation for his ten years of participating on the Annual Ladies Day Luncheon committee. Paula Murphy was also presented with a certificate of appreciation for her administrative efforts and the beautiful floral centerpieces she prepared for the tables. Her work on the LDL committee was the key to making this year’s luncheon a success and within budget. Thank you, Paula,
