MIXER

The Mixer is a social, co-ed group that meets at Jack’s in Pleasant Hill for drinks and appetizers. Dress is informal and discussions usually center on current events and whatever is on your mind.

The group meets Monthly, on the last Tuesday of each month. The get-togethers usually last for an hour and half to two hours. Everyone is welcome and we hope to see some new faces and smiles at the Mixers. Mixers: While we didn’t have a record, we had a good group, with 16 SIR members and significant others enjoying a great day. Great weather and a fun crowd as always. Our September get-together is on Tuesday September 30th (always the last Tuesday of the month) at Jack’s in Pleasant Hill at 3:00. Hope for even a bigger crowd in July and once again, fun times.

Mixers: Another record turnout for our July get-together, with 22 Sirs and significant others enjoying a great day. We had so many that we took up two complete tables. Our August get-together is on Tuesday, August 26th (always the last Tuesday of the month) at Jack’s in Pleasant Hill at 3:00. Hope for even a bigger crowd in July and once again, fun times.

June 2025

Mixers: What a great turnout on a beautiful day for our June get-together (see the photo below). This is a great chance for 19 of the SIR guys and their significant others to just hangout and discuss whatever is on your mind. Our July get-together is on Tuesday July 29^th (always the last Tuesday of the month) at Jack’s in Pleasant Hill at 3:00. Hope for even a bigger crowd in July and once again, fun times.

May 2025

A beautiful day, great weather and wonderful group met for our May get-together (see the photo below). Great to have Amy Rizzo rejoin the group and nice to have Thom and Paula Watkins show up also. This is a great chance for the SIR guys and their significant others to just hangout and discuss whatever is on your mind. April 2025

A small group of 7 assembled for our April Mixers. Despite the small numbers, the discussions were lively and lots of laughs. Great time was had by all and we missed those of you who couldn’t make it; hope you can be there in May. Our May get-together is on Tuesday May 27^th at Jack’s in Pleasant Hill at 3:00. Hope for a big crowd and once again, fun times.

March 2025

On a warm spring day with the open patio, 11 of us enjoyed our March get-together and the wonderful weather, great conversations and good eats for all. It was great to see Norm Cox rejoin the group and we welcome a new member, Lynn Oakleaf to the Mixers. Our next event will be on the usual last Tuesday of the month (April 29th) at 3:00 at Jack’s in Pleasant Hill.

January 2025

Our January 2025 event had a great turnout with 14 people, including four couples, showing up (see below). Great conversations and good eats for all. Our February event will be on the usual last Tuesday of the month (February 25^th) at 3:00 at Jack’s in Pleasant Hill.

Our December get-together was two weeks earlier than usual (December 17^th) to avoid any conflict with Christmas and New Year’s Eve. We had a great turnout with 16 people and a new couple, Thom and Paula Watkins. The group was so large that we had to use two complete tables. What a great time. What a great crowd for our November event (see picture below). We had 14 show up including two new couples, the Dominguez’s and the Peckham’s. Great to have new members and hopefully more will join the festivities. Our December get-together will be a week earlier than usual (December 17^th) to avoid any conflict with Christmas. Obviously October is a popular travel month for Branch 8 as many of our regulars for Mixers were out of town. On a hot September afternoon, Jack’s once again accommodated us inside instead of being on the patio. We had a great turnout of 13 and as always discussions were interesting and laughter and fun abounded. Our get-togethers are always on the last Tuesday of every month) at 3:00 pm at Jack’s in Pleasant Hill. Our October get-together on the 29^th will have occurred prior to Hotline publication. Due to proximity of Thanksgiving in November and Christmas in December, we may change the meeting dates. Stay tuned for updates.

August 2024

On a hot August afternoon, we moved inside instead of being on the patio. Unfortunately, that precluded two of our couples, who bring their puppies along, from staying. Our small group still had a great time and it was nice to have Lynn Crowley back with us. Our get-togethers are always on the last Tuesday of every month) at 3:00 pm at Jack’s in Pleasant Hill. Despite the hot weather and the traffic issues caused by the burning garbage truck on I-680, our June meeting was a great success with 12 of us enjoying great tasty snacks, a drink, and lively conversation.
